First there was the Liquor Store, which houses neat stacks of crisp button downs, vintage aviators, books and aged magazines, instead of alcohol; then, there was the J.Crew Men’s Shop, which surprisingly, pays a great amount of attention to sartorial tradition and keeps an eye out for the best and most specialized menswear items in the world such as Alden dress shoes, Mister Freedom denim, and a myriad of scoured vintage accessories and memorabilia. The best thing about J.Crew’s men’s boutiques is that, it is one of the few shops that cater to men and only men. We are not talking about boys here, but the contemporary men who are looking for everything from suits to a pair of sturdy boat shoes for a weekend getaway. The mens shop and select collaborations with labels such as Globetrotter had awarded J.Crew with a new found reputation synonymous with good taste and quality (well done, Mickey Drexler!), and now, it is expanding the J.Crew Men’s Shop operations to New York’s Upper East Side. A Continuous Lean had visited the store with Mr. Sean Sullivan to put together a little video tour for those who are not yet ready to trek uptown, and those who are not in town.
