In Vanquish’s Ryo Ishikawa’s mind, these are the people who will open up a whole new world, and bring a new sense of hope into the mundane. Prior to Vanquish’s Spring/Summer 2011 runway presentation at Japan Fashion Week, the label had released a short film in conjunction with Sony Ericsson, directed by Yasuyui Kubota. The short film is shot entirely in black and white, save the only color that from mythical blue bird (referenced from the literary classic, The Blue Bird) which brought people out of their mundane trance, and symbolized a sliver of hope that promises to open up a whole new world.
