The Art of De – A Film By A. Sauvage

The Art of De A Film By A. Sauvage

Here is Adrien Sauvage of his eponymous menswear label, A. Sauvage. And he is here to teach us how he functions from day tonight, and how dressing becomes an essential but non-intrusive part of his day. To explore the notion of dressing for the men with a purpose, Sauvage has create an existential short film with narration by Larry Lamb, whose firm, masculine vintage voice gives the film a slight propagandist film as well.

In the video which can almost rival an artistic short, Sauvage works in the art of DE “Dress Easy” for occasions both mundane and formal. For instance, the lapel should be peaked at night, and side adjusters are favored so no belts are needed, and cufflinks should be rid off in the spirit of “no cufflinks, no nonsense”.

Enjoy the video, and in the mean time, ponder and formulate your own answer to the film-noir-esque existential query of the film–”Where is the designer?”.

Dockers Spring/Summer 2011 | Preview

It is time to put away those sweat pants, and the aged, shredded denim that you have worn from the laundromat to McDonalds to the dive bar but haven’t washed for as long as you could remember. It is time to put on some pants with Dockers.

While many may recall Dockers as a wardrobe staple for the middle-aged men (cue the pleated, comfortably loosely fitted khakis that are versatile enough for a business casual and Sunday service), the khaki doyen introduced by Levi’s in the 80s, Dockers has been reinventing itself as not just a wardrobe staple, but a timely necessity for men of all ages. Thus began the label’s collaboration with New York City’s Steve Alan, and an aggressive campaign rallying all men to “Wear The Pants”.
