Stone Island has been sculpting unbelievably detailed Italian-crafted garments that fuse performance and technology with crisp tailoring since 1982. Based in Ravarino, Italy, the owner and Creative Director Carlo Rivetti takes us on a tour of Stone Island, from research to product development to technological testing. Textiles go through extensive fabric and color testing in order to make it onto a piece. But prior to any of those steps, Rivetti scrupulously scours through his 40,000-plus garment historical archive and then heads over to the lab, where he inspects the hand made dyes (there are recipes for over 60,0000 different dyes). What emerges is a ten minute film that records the manic obsession to detail, during which every imaginable component is deliberately researched and experimented with. And what is the result? A top-notch brand with years of experience infused within the fibers of each piece.
