Adam Kimmel x Carhartt – Fall 2011 | Preview

To continue our coverage of the Pitti Uomo trade show in Italy, we have the debut of the Adam Kimmel x Carhartt collaboration. Adam Kimmal’s line, launched in 2004, is already known for its understated, luxurious and modern menswear handmade in Italy using the finest materials. On the other hand, Carhartt is an American workwear brand that has been outfitting the working man in canvas and coveralls since 1889. This might seem like an odd pairing at first, but as Kimmal explains it, it makes perfect sense. Both brands are dedicated to the quality, durability and wearability of their clothing, and workwear inspired pieces have always been a staple in Kimmel’s line. The line will be produced in Carhartt factories and includes jackets, blazers, sweaters, chambray button-downs, jeans and work pants. The best example of these two brands coming together is the jackets. They look like classic Carharrt: a simple cut, heavy duty zippers and snaps, and cargo pockets. Yet they are lined with moleskine for softness and warmth, the kind of “luxury” that even a man not interested in fashion can appreciate. This is Kimmel’s first collaboration, and he describes it has a dream come true, and something that will be beneficial to both brands as it will allow them to reach new customers. The line’s first drop will be available exclusively at Barneys, and then worldwide this May. via: Provider
