CAMO was another standout at Pitti Uomo. Launched in 2007 by designer Stefano Ughetti, the line is young in years, but its craftsmanship and aesthetic are certainly mature. The company is based in the small village of Biella, Italy, and the fabrics are produced there by Italian craftsmen. The F/W 2011 collection is titled “Soul Collection” and it was inspired by the village of Oropa, near Biella in northwestern Italy. The town is described as a place where tourism and religion coexist, but is also in step with modern life. The collection reflects this by offering jackets, pants and knitwear that is usually associated with old men, such as tweed, sweater vests, and car coats, and giving them a modern appeal. The clothing is accessorized in the lookbook (also shot in Oropa) with bowler hats and wire-rimmed glasses. Blazers are fitted, with 2 buttons, in black and tweeds. Knitwear comes in a classic raglan sleeve sweater with raised seams, or collared pullovers. A standout is the belted cardigan in a subtle zigzag pattern. Overall, this collection’s classic cuts, neutral color palette, and buttoned-up feel almost make it seem like it was designed for the world’s most dashing clergyman. via: CS
