Milan Fashion Week – Giuliano Fujiwara Fall/Winter 2012

Giuliano Fujiwara’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection was unveiled at this year’s Milan Fashion Week, and the runway looks revealed a continuation of a distinctive aesthetic for which the brand is known — namely, the distilling of Japanese sensibilities with the best of Italian tailoring in the service of a steadfastly unique vision. The Canadian outdoors, as well as colors drawn from traditional Inuit apparel, were reference points for the sweaters and outerwear. Creative director Masataka Matsumura injected wearability to the progressively modern designs, with suiting incorporating knit pants and bulky footwear complementing clean lines and soft textures. Standouts included double-breasted shearling coats with ankle-length pants and heavy wool suiting with slouchy, gathered-hem trousers.
