In light of the breakout success of the Leather LunarGrand, it’s no surprise that Cole Haan is once again returning to the Nike Lunarlon well. This time around the brand fuses a traditional chukka boot upper with a white Lunarlon sole that provides plush cushioning and support. It’s a hybridization that on its face seems to make more sense than a brogue appended with the sole unit of a performance running sneaker, considering this LunarChukka style falls squarely in the range of popular styles like the Common Projects Suede Chukka and Pierre Hardy Chukka Sneaker. Of course the advantage Cole Haan enjoys is the ability to reap the benefits of Nike’s Innovation Kitchen. Stay tuned for release info. via: TENISUFKI.EU

In anticipation of the UEFA EURO kicking off in just 80 days, adidas Originals is releasing two new styles of a longstanding iconic football shoe. More specifically, the kicks are one to one reissues of the Gazelle Indoor, featuring a sleek low-profile silhouette and suede-based upper, as well as the signature semi-translucent gum outsole. Additional details include a thin synthetic tongue for reduced weight, white leather three-stripes and distinctive trefoil-patterned tread for superior grip. A comfortable leather lining and classic good looks have enabled the sneaker to transcend its origins, but true believers will always regard the shoe as a mainstay of indoor football. It’s available for Spring 2012 in a collegiate purple or clear grey colorway.

The series of footwear collaborations between edgy Belgian designer Bernhard Willhelm and quirky Spanish shoemaker Camper tend to give rise to eye-popping designs, but this latest collaborative effort skews more to the traditional than the fanciful, featuring a low-profile silhouette in an understated tonal black colorway. The yellow midsole and partially gold laces provide a nice bit of contrast, while suede eyestays and heel tab add texture to the perforated leather upper. The signature Camper rubber outsole, plus an extra-tall tongue inscribed with two vaguely contradictory sentiments jumbled together, round out the details of a sneaker that seemingly has your best interests at heart. Or wants to simply stir up trouble. The kicks are available now at oki-ni.

Boxing is sometimes called the sweet science, indicating that pugilism has its roots as a gentleman’s sport, informed with strategy and finesse and not simple brute strength. So it’s fitting, then, that Opening Ceremony’s lookbook for Fall/Winter 2012 is modeled by lightweight boxer Eric Ramos, conveying the collection’s light touch and easy wearability, as well as a deliberate sense of pacing. Shot by Todd Jordan, the looks showcase traditional cold weather fabrics like Melton wool and mohair in somber olives and greys, contrasted by pops of red and navy on a toggle coat and nylon anorak. Standouts include the blackwatch trench and hooded utility jacket in a custom camo print. See more from the lookbook in the gallery below.

Though it may seem as if Mark McNairy appeared out of nowhere — and is now seemingly everywhere — the designer has worked in the fashion industry for decades, cutting his teeth as a women’s sportswear designer for Finis in the ’80s, then on to menswear for 68 & Brothers in the ’90s. By the time he was appointed creative director for J.Press in 2005, his sartorial vision was fully realized. It’s no wonder, then, that the lookbook for his Fall/Winter 2012 collection — modeled by author Hooman Majd — indicates such an easy self-assuredness, even when blending floral print trousers with a bright yellow cardigan. This is a guy who doesn’t believe in hidebound fashion rules, who revels in the liberty of simply wearing what you want, and not having to choose between streetwear or Americana. To McNairy, it’s all the same, and that’s precisely what attracts his legions of followers.
